FDCSA MEETINGS

Study Group

A Study group meeting is held in February, May, August and November. This is open to any and every member of affiliated clubs. It is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the above months.

The hall opens at 9.00am for members putting up designs for analysing during the day. The meeting starts at 10.00am. Entrance is $10.00 and this includes Morning and Lunch Tea/coffee. All members attending their first Study Group are admitted free. There is raffle and a Trading Table which has Floral Art materials, plants and bric-a-brac. Homework is analysed by qualified judges during the day, when plenty of hits and tips are given to help people to imrove their arrangements. A fairly short business meeting is held to promote upcoming events and news.

Three judges demonstrate during the day, each doing several beautiful designs. Lots of techniques, and design ideas are taught during this time. Members bring their own lunch, but there is often hot soup or scones available at a low cost to help with fundraising.

Annually, the Floral Design Council of South Australia holds competitions which run during the Royal Show, for more information please look at the agenda below.
